Insanely long title, but much can and needs to be said about Vivian Maier. A professional Chicago based nanny who from the 1950s until the 1990s took over 100,000 photographs worldwide. From France to New York, and a bunch more countries. She never developed most of her film or showed her photographs to anyone. Ever. This was until amateur historian John Maloof in 2007 found a box of anonymous negatives and decided to delve in and shed some light on her incredible body of work.
Maier seemingly lost possession of her negatives when her storage locker was sold off for non-payment. She passed away in 2009 at the age of 83.
